If you have been coming to the Weekend of Champions/State Retreat in Marshalltown for years, you need to throw phrases like “that’s not how we’ve always done it” or “we’ve never done it that way before” out of your vocabulary! And replace it with “Flexibility” because we have some exciting changes for you this year! So that you can come prepared, here are a few Changes you should be aware of for this year: 1) We are going to be registering downstairs, not in the foyer upstairs through the main doors! Thus you will need to enter using the Northeast Downstairs doors! (by the gym). We are planning on Registering in the Fireside Room which is across from the kitchen, right by the gym. 2) Since we are having the PowerTeam, the opening assembly will start at 7 pm (earlier)!! 3) If you arrive after 7 pm, have your students bring their stuff to the gym, then have them go find a seat in the auditorium so they can see as much of the assembly as possible. You (assuming you are the Huddle Coach/Adult who brought them) will then need to register your students before joining the assembly. Tell your students to meet you back downstairs after the program to get their nametags, playbook, etc. Then they will be able to join their huddle (since they won’t know what huddle they are in until they have their name tag). 4) Students will not sit with their huddle Friday Night (unless they arrive early enough, find fellow huddle members and want to sit with them on their own). Following the assembly, the girls will go to their rooms and meet up with their huddle and the boys will go to the gym and meet up with their huddle. 5) This year with every 8 student registrations you receive a free adult registration. (was 10 in the past) 6) FCA Merchandise will be for sale in the Fireside Room (across from the kitchen) and Power Team merchandise will be for sale upstairs in the lobby. 7) The Power Team will take up a freewill offering during their programs. The Registration fee is helping to underwrite the cost to bring the Power Team in, thus you and your students should not feel pressured to give additionally; however, we do encourage you to give as you feel God leading.
