Featured Guest Speaker: Kevin Lykins began his coaching career at Texas A&M University as a student assistant and a graduate assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Kinesiology, Kevin became the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. In May of 1999, Kevin was called into full-time ministry. He enrolled in seminary and began pastoring Pleasant Glade Baptist Church in Colleyville, Texas. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages degree in December 2003. In July of 2007, Kevin was hired by Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is currently working with FCA on the campus of Iowa State University. He also volunteers his time as the Life Skills Coach for the ISU football team. Kevin, his wife Marcy and their three children, Delaney, Jake, and Ellie reside in Ames. Featured Guest Band: The Tim Aaron Band was started in August of 2007. They hit the ground running, serving the local church and community in a number of events, including the Sacred Assembly, the Covered Bridges Festival in Winterset, and the Iowa Christian Academy's Fall Retreat. Membership consists of former SoulFire members Tim Grubb and Geoffrey Safford, Jr., with Matt Wetzel and Eddie Buntenbach rounding out the lineup. God has uniquely knitted their musical talents and relational lives in a short time frame and has given them a passion to lead others in a progressive, dynamic, rock and roll flared and vertically focused style of worship. The reserved rooms feature two- queen beds and are non-smoking. They’re available for $55/night by contacting Ashley Clark at the state office.
